The I-Ching Speaks

Hexagram 1 — Qián — is the only hexagram in the I-Ching composed entirely of unbroken yang lines. Six solid lines. No yin, no gaps, no receptivity — just pure, raw creative force from top to bottom. Sky above, sky below. Heaven meeting itself.

The ancient sages looked at this hexagram and saw the dragon — not the fire-breathing destroyer of Western myth, but the cosmic dragon of Chinese tradition: a force of nature that begins hidden in the deep waters and rises, stage by stage, until it soars across the heavens.
